Obama Bet Stephen Harper a Case of Beer During the Olympics
Obama Owes the Canadian Prime Minister Two Cases of Beer
The men's Olympic ice hockey semifinal took place between Team USA and Canada on Friday, and you can bet that the country's leaders tuned in — after all, there was a case of beer on the line. President Barack Obama and Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper took to Twitter to announce their Sochi bets. The stakes? One case of beer for each hockey game this week between the US and Canada. (Maybe Prime Minister Harper can turn to Team Canada's beer fridge for some extra brews.) Unfortunately for Obama, the Canadian women's hockey team beat Team USA in overtime on Thursday, and the Canadian men's team celebrated a victory on Friday too.
I'm betting @barackobama one case of Canadian beer per hockey game this week. #teamusa is good, but #WeAreWinter. #GoCanadaGo @WhiteHouse
