The Parks and Rec Cast's Kind Gesture For a Sick Kid Will Melt Your Heart
Just when you thought you couldn't love Amy Poehler and the cast of Parks and Recreation any more than you already do, they go ahead and do something like this. Josh, a young man with Von-Hippel Lindau syndrome, which causes tumors to form all over the body, got to visit the cast as they filmed the season finale for their sixth season thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. (He only recently got the go-ahead from NBC to share his photos and stories from the set.) As you can see in the pictures, the cast looked happy to greet Josh and his family, and some cast members who weren't filming — like Aziz Ansari (Tom) and Jim O'Heir (Jerry) — made a point to stop by and hang out with Josh. He later wrote in a Reddit AMA about how kind Amy was to him:
'Amy Poehler was litt-rally one of the kindest and most loving people I've ever met. She just kept coming back for another conversation, hug, or picture. A lot of the actors actually took pictures or video. She made sure to get our contact information to send us stuff and check in every once in a while. She set us up with VIP tickets and meet-and-greet passes to see an improv show that night featuring some other NBC heavy hitters including Kenneth [Jack McBrayer] from 30 Rock and AJ [Rob Huebel] from The Office (and P&R). I had no idea that an A-list celebrity like herself could be so sweet and kind. It blew us away."
