American Idol alum Phillip Phillips is going to be a married man! On Friday, the winner of the singing competition's 11th season announced that he is engaged to his longtime girlfriend, Hannah Blackwell. The couple shared their exciting news on Facebook, posting a smiley picture in which her stunning diamond engagement ring is front and center. "My best Christmas surprise is happening. We're engaged yall!" he wrote. Meanwhile, Hannah took to Instagram to share her reaction to the proposal with a picture of the ring in front of her childhood Christmas tree ornament. "I've been dreaming of this for over 20 years," she wrote. "I've been dreaming of this guy for just that long. Overwhelmed with happiness."
The joyous announcement comes nearly six years after the two met while volunteering at a women and children's shelter in 2009, and Hannah was by his side when he took American Idol by storm in 2012. "She supported me throughout all of this, and I love her to death," he said in an interview with People at the time.
