Selma Blair is celebrating two years of sobriety with a whole lot of gratitude. Just two days before her 46th birthday, the actress shared a heartfelt photo on Instagram, writing about her roller-coaster journey over the last couple years. "2 years sober. 2 years feeling everything and nothing. 2 years of extreme gratitude and humility and grace. I thank the lord and my friends. Thank you for the most special birthday week @fran.anania #amypines #arthursaintbleick," she wrote. "I prayed for a miracle at my lowest points. I am a living miracle. Thank you. Thank you."
In an Instagram post last month, Selma had another milestone to be proud of: 21 years in Los Angeles! She reflected on the friendships she's made and her immense accomplishments as an actor, but also opened up about her struggles with anxiety, depression, and postpartum depression after giving birth to son Arthur Saint Bleick in 2011.
"I battled alcoholism and depression and anxiety. I am now winning that battle. Hi a much better life. . . I had a son. Hi Arthur! I lived with #postpartumdepression for 4 long years. Crippling anxiety. I fell apart. The last moment being very public," she wrote, referring to the time she was taken off a flight in 2016. "I was sorry. I was humbled. I stayed humble . . . I got better. The weight of grief began to lift. I still struggle. I cry quietly so as not to wake my child. I am a good mother . . . I want to thank you all for believing in me. I want to find the right work for me. And for me as a mom and as a woman who has come so far in personal ways. I want to make us all proud."
With two years of sobriety under her belt, Selma has a lot to be proud of. Now, time to eat that cake!
