What We Know About Anya Taylor-Joy and Malcolm McRae's Relationship

Romance speculation began to swirl after Taylor-Joy and McRae were photographed holding hands and sharing a kiss in New York City in May 2021, per Daily Mail. The outing came just weeks after the actor confirmed she was dating someone during an interview with Elle, though she didn't give much away.

Without mentioning him by name, Taylor-Joy spoke to the outlet from the bathroom of her home, noting it was because of whomever she was dating and their work stuff. "My partner's just come back from work, and he's moving around all of his equipment," she shared at the time. "So this was the safe spot."

While they had already gone official on social media, Taylor-Joy and McRae didn't pose for photographs in a professional setting until March 2022 when they went all out twice in one weekend. They first attended the CAA pre-Oscars party on March 25, and two days later, on March 27, they turned heads at Vanity Fair's Oscars afterparty.

Later that month, Taylor-Joy spoke to British Vogue about how she and McRae aren't just in a relationship, but are also good friends. "I said to my partner the other day that he was my hobby," she shared. "I see reading as something that I have to do. He loved it because he's the same. I've finally found someone who will happily sit in silence with me reading. We're basically 80 years old and seven at the same time and it works really well."

The busy actor also spoke about how they make long distance work. "It is [hard], but it's also kind of great because when you're together you're really valuing the time that you have," she explained. "Everyday mundane activities are so full of joy. I love going to the petrol station with him and filling up the car and going to get breakfast."

After two years together, it was reported that Taylor-Joy and McRae tied the knot in Venice. In attendance at the celebration were Taylor-Joy's former costars Cara Delevingne, Julia Garner, and Nicholas Hoult, among other friends and family, according to E! News.
