Surprise! Chrissy Teigen and John Legend Just Revealed They've Welcomed Another Baby

John Legend and Chrissy Teigen have been keeping a big surprise! The couple confirmed on June 28 that they have expanded their family once again, welcoming a son named Wren Alexander Stephens via surrogate. Teigen revealed the news and shared the first photos of Wren on Instagram. Teigen and Legend just welcomed daughter Esti Maxine in January and have two older children: daughter Luna and son Miles. They previously lost their son Jack at 20 weeks into Teigen's pregnancy in 2020.

"For as long as I can remember, I've always wanted four children," Teigen wrote in her Instagram announcement. "As a little girl, 2 glow worms and 2 cabbage patch dolls were perpetually in my arms, helping me stir in my pretend kitchen, watching 'Alf' with me." She continued in another slide, "After losing Jack, I didn't think I'd be able to carry any more babies on my own. To be honest, I've personally blocked out a lot of my mindset during that time, but one clear memory is being surrounded by people who wanted to make sure I wouldn't go through that pain and loss again."

She explained that in 2021, the couple reached out to a surrogacy agency to inquire "about perhaps having 2 tandem surrogates, to each bring us a healthy baby boy or girl. Twins, kinda?!" During this journey, Teigen explained, she realized she wanted to attempt to carry their baby herself "just one more time." Said Teigen, "If it doesn't work, we will be okay. We've already seen the worst."

"And so we restarted the IVF process," she wrote, explaining, "We did my transfer, and were so happy to learn it worked — we were pregnant with our little girl, Esti." At some point during their IVF process, Teigen and Legend met the most "incredible, loving, compassionate surrogate we could ever imagine, Alexandra." After an unsuccessful first transfer, Alexandra got pregnant with Teigen and Legend's son, and he was born on June 19.

"Our hearts, and our home, are officially full," wrote Teigen. "And to our Jack, we know both their angel kisses are from you."

Legend also shared photos of Wren, alongside a picture of himself with all of the couple's children. "Wren Alexander Stephens, our new love," he captioned the post.

Earlier this year, Teigen told POPSUGAR that Luna and Miles are naturals when it comes to their younger sister. "They really do love it," Teigen said of their approach to big brother- and sisterhood. "They really adore [Esti]. They beg me to pick them up from school with her. They fight over who gets to push the stroller. Miles is always kissing on her so hard. Luna holds her like a pro. . . . She has such a confidence about her, and it's so effortless for her to be a big sister. It's so cool."
