Grant Gustin's Short but Sweet Dating History

"The Flash" ended with Barry Allen and Iris West becoming a family of three when they welcomed their daughter, Nora. In real life, Grant Gustin also found his happily ever after with his wife, LA Thoma Gustin. She isn't an actor, but based on her Instagram, we know she's a physical therapist and trainer. LA got her certification from Old Dominion University, and after graduating, LA became a personal trainer and founded the Dare to Be Active app, on which she offers at-home workouts. As if that wasn't impressive enough, LA even has her own activewear line.

Grant and LA first crossed paths in 2016. They quickly fell in love, and Grant popped the question a year later. Grant and LA tied the knot in December 2018, and in February 2021, they announced they were expecting their first child together. That August, the couple revealed that they had officially become first-time parents. Similar to his "Flash" character, Grant is also a girl dad. He and LA have a daughter named Juniper Grace Louise.

In honor of Mother's Day this year, Grant shared a sweet tribute to his wife on Instagram on May 14. "A strong Mama, supportive wife, dependable & caring friend. Straight up boss. We're all so lucky to have you in our lives," Grant wrote alongside a photo of LA holding Juniper.

Hannah Douglass

Prior to finding love with LA, Grant dated his "Glee" costar Hannah Douglass. The "Puppy Love" actor played Dalton Academy student Sebastian Smythe on the show from 2011 to 2013. Meanwhile, Douglass played a high school cheerleader on the show. After posting several photos together on social media, Grant confirmed his relationship with Douglass in a 2014 interview with the Entertainment Inquirer. He told the publication they had been dating "for a few years," meaning they likely became a couple during their "Glee" days.

According to Bustle, Grant and Douglass attended Heather Morriss's wedding to Taylor Hubbell in 2015. At the time, the actor shared a photo with Douglass at the event on Instagram. "So much fun with [Douglass] & friends at Heather & Taylor's wedding, rocking my @thetiebow bow tie," he reportedly captioned the post, which has since been deleted. That July, Grant and Douglass were also spotted holding hands during 2015 San Diego Comic-Con, as seen in photos obtained by Just Jared.

It's unclear when they officially split, but Douglass has since appeared to have found love with photographer Adam Secore.

LA Thoma Gustin

According to LA's Instagram, she and Grant appeared to have started dating in early 2016. In April 2017, she announced their engagement on Instagram by sharing a photo of her and Grant on the beach, per Entertainment Tonight. Grant reportedly proposed the day after LA moved in with him at his home in Venice, CA.

During a 2018 appearance on "Conan," Grant revealed that he was initially going to propose to LA in Costa Rica. He was supposed to film a movie there; however, after it kept being pushed back, he eventually had to drop the project due to his "Flash" obligations. "It was such an impromptu proposal and random moment that she thought I was joking when I proposed. It was not a very good proposal. She laughed at first, and then she did say yes," Grant recalled.

Grant and LA got married on Dec. 15, 2018. LA shared a few photos from their ceremony on Instagram, including one of her and Grant sharing their first kiss as husband and wife. According to E! News, the couple held their wedding at Valentine DTLA in Los Angeles. Several stars were in attendance, including "Supergirl" actors Melissa Benoist and Chris Wood.

Three years after tying the knot, LA announced in February 2021 that she and Grant were expecting their first child together. She shared the exciting news on Instagram by posting a photo of her and Grant surrounded by their dogs as the couple held up their baby's sonogram. "adding one more to the crew! The pups are thrilled :)," LA wrote.

The pair welcomed a daughter that August. "Juniper Grace Louise is here and mama and papa are absolutely obsessed 🤍," LA announced on Instagram, alongside a photo of her baby's feet. "We will be very busy kissing and sniffing every inch of her until she is old enough to tell us it's weird 😏."
