Mariah Carey Takes a "Celebratory Splash" in the Ocean For Her 54th Birthday

Mariah Carey took her birthday celebration to new levels this week — sea levels. On March 27, the iconic pop star celebrated her 54th birthday in the best way possible: by jumping off a boat into some refreshing, deep blue ocean water. Because what better way to honor another year around the sun than with a "celebratory splash at 3:27 on 3.27! 🦋🍾🎉🌊," per Carey's Instagram post.

The singer's post included a slow-motion video of her big jump, plus some footage of her splashing around in the sea with her hot pink wetsuit. The clip was soundtracked by her "Honey (Classic Mix)" song.

Carey didn't celebrate her special day all by herself. Her choreographer boyfriend, Bryan Tanaka, 39, also shared a sweet message on Instagram in honor of Carey, writing in a photo tribute, "This is one of my favorite pictures. Ever. Happy Anniversary my Beautiful Queen. 🦋3/27🦋❤️." The singer's Instagram comments were also filled with birthday messages, including one from the Da Brat that reads, "When bestie is ONE WITH THE WATER she is happier than ever. It's an unimaginable feeling of freedom. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to THE GOAT."
