Congratulations are in order: Michelle Williams is expecting her third child! The Oscar-nominated actor confirmed the news to Variety on May 10 and told the outlet that she and her husband, Thomas Kail, will welcome their baby this fall. "It's totally joyous," Williams said. "As the years go on, you sort of wonder what they might hold for you or not hold for you. It's exciting to discover that something you want again and again, is available one more time. That good fortune is not lost on me or my family."
This will be Williams and Kail's second child together after welcoming 1-year-old son Hart in 2020. According to Williams, raising a child during the pandemic helped put things into perspective for her. "It was a reminder that life goes on," she added in her interview. "The world we brought a baby into is not the world we thought we were bringing a baby into, but the baby is ignorant of that. He experiences the unmitigated joy of discovery and the happiness of a loving home."
Williams also shares her 16-year-old daughter, Matilda, with late actor Heath Ledger, who died in 2008. Williams — who's gearing up for two upcoming film projects ("Showing Up" and "The Fabelmans") — said she looks forward to expanding her family and plans to take a break after her movies premiere to prepare for her baby's birth.
