Demi Lovato and Joe Jonas dated for several months in 2010. Since then, the two have been able to remain friends, but not without a few public revelations. In December 2013, Joe gave a candid interview to New York Magazine, spilling secrets about his drug use and revealing that Demi was the person that actually taught him how to smoke pot. He admitted that he warned Demi before the tell-all came out, to which she responded, "I was like, 'We smoked pot together?!' I don't even remember clearly. . . but I'm pretty sure it happened."
About their current status, Demi has said, "We're always going to be friends," and Joe told Us Weekly, "Demi and I are good friends and we have been friends for years." Not only do they still remain close, but Demi frequently hangs out and collaborates musically with Joe's younger brother, Nick — the two even toured together in 2016.
