World Pillow Fight Day Is a Bigger Deal Than You Thought

Could this be the international holiday that unites the world? Feathers went flying over the weekend for Pillow Fight Day. From Paris to Singapore, the flash-mob event brought smiles to participants' faces. The annual pillow fight is part of the Urban Playground Movement. The mission of the movement is to organize free, noncommercial public events. The group says, "One of our goals is to make these unique happenings in public space become a significant part of popular culture, partially replacing passive, nonsocial, branded consumption experiences like watching television, and consciously rejecting the blight on our cities caused by the endless creep of advertising into public space." Everyone who channeled their inner slumber-party kid might not be aware of the pillow politics, but it looks like the day accomplished its goal of free fun regardless. Check out the photos below.
