Unless this movie show the entire FBI as totally corrupt and useless while this crazy man runs around killing people with impunity, it's not going to be a very good film in my opinion. Romanticizing the guy will make for a terrible movie, but so will making him out to be the most wanted boogie man of the world.

As a newcomer to boston, hearing this story for the first time after the guy was caught what seemed the most hypocritical to me was that one day, this guy is waltzing in and out of FBI headquarters without a soul stopping him, (despite the fact that they had about a million rolls of tape on he guy). Then, the next minute, he's the most dangerous guy on earth, top ten most wanted.

He was a bad dude for sure, but I feel like he was not the only villian in the story. Apparently one FBI guy went to jail for tipping him off years ago, but it doesn't seem like any other inquiries were made. The old man was a gangster, so it's not too shocking that he killed people, but where the F was the FBI? Having a good laugh about it, apparently.

Other people can say anything they want about Depp. But to my eyes; he's a uber -talented and marvelously versatile actor. I suspect he will be written down in the annals of film history as one of his generation's greatest..

I'm ambivalent about this movie, generally. I just moved to South Boston, which is gentrifying into a whole new neighborhood. Everyone talks about what a bad guy this guy was, but in a weird way, some still want to romanticize him just to hold on to the past. It's kind of hypocritical in a way.

I'll hold my judgement until the thing comes out, but phone taps of this guy were all over the news for several months, and he seemed like a half-crazy, broken-down old gangster, then there were a bunch of family members of victims crying on the courthouse steps for a month. Sad all around and not much an ending for a film, if you ask me.

He looks like Christopher Walken. Why didn't they just get Walken?
