Prince William and Kate Middleton's Royal Road to Baby #3

Prince William and Kate Middleton meet as students at Scotland's St. Andrews University, from which they graduate in 2005. She majors in art history, and he in geography. Their relationship becomes public knowledge in 2004, when they are photographed on a ski vacation together. For a time, they share a house with two other friends.

After graduation, William and Kate begin finding their paths in the adult world. Kate, based in London, works intermittently for her parents' company Party Pieces and then for the retail chain Jigsaw. William, meanwhile, embarks on the first steps of his military career, enrolling at the Royal Military Academy in Sandhurst, England.

Attention on William and Kate's relationship intensifies after she attends his graduation from Sandhurst in December 2006. There are other signs she's being accepted into the royal clan, including her attendance at the wedding of William's stepsister, Laura Parker Bowles. While Kate continues spending the bulk of her time in London, William begins a new course of military training in Southwestern England.

Despite Kate's apparent acceptance into William's family, other pressures cause William and Kate to part ways in early 2007. The relentless glare of the media is identified as a contributing factor to their split.

Kate throws herself into the social scene of London, while William, at a military base, begins to regret his decision. The breakup is short-lived. By July 2007, Kate and William are back together — and for good. The first public hint of their reconciliation comes when Kate attends the Concert for Diana, honoring William's late mother, in July.

With their romance back on, William and Kate become increasingly serious in their relationship. She joins him for a family ski vacation in Switzerland that Spring.

Kate joins William for a high-profile event in April 2008, the first since their breakup. She watches as he graduates from a Royal Airfare pilot training course in Lincolnshire, England.

During breaks in his military training, William and Kate make sure to spend as much time together as possible — away from the glare of the cameras.

Kate is by William's side in 2010 as he marks another chapter in his career, completing a training in Anglesey, Wales, to become a search and rescue pilot for the Royal Air Force. He is posted to Wales, a place Kate, content in their relationship, is happy to live for a time.

Unbeknownst to royal fans around the globe, William pops the question during an October 2010 getaway to Kenya. Kate, of course, accepts.

The big news is announced to the world in November 2010. William had proposed with his late mother Princess Diana's engagement ring, which Kate proudly sports as she and her husband-to-be announce their plans to wed from the luxurious environs of St. James's Palace in London.

With her acceptance into the royal family a done deal, Kate embarks on her first official engagement as a princess-to-be. Kate joins Prince William in February 2011 to christen a new lifeboat in Wales.

Prince William and Kate Middleton wed in April 2011 at Westminster Abbey in London and celebrate their union with a reception at Buckingham Palace. Reports suggest that two billion people around the globe watch the ceremony on television. William and Kate are now known as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

Newlyweds Kate and William get back to business one month after their wedding. Their first royal engagement as husband and wife is a special one, welcoming President and First Lady Obama to Buckingham Palace.

William and Kate embark on their first-ever royal tour as husband and wife, visiting Canada and California in the Summer of 2011. They gamely watch rodeo in Calgary, row dragon boats on Prince Edward Island, and mingle with celebrities in Los Angeles.

The occasional royal duty brings William and Kate to London, but for most of 2012 the couple settle into a happy routine living in Wales, where he is stationed as a search and rescue pilot. They adopt a dog, calling him Lupo. William and Kate seem to enjoy living in Wales and setting up their first proper home together.

William and Kate are drawn back to London in Summer 2012 in order to participate in the London Olympics. They enthusiastically cheer for UK athletes at a number of events and memorably embrace at a track event.

Married a year and a half, William and Kate delight royal-watchers in December 2012 with the news that they are expecting their first child. Not yet three months pregnant, Kate's pregnancy is revealed when she's hospitalized in London for severe morning sickness.

And baby makes three! In July 2013, global media focuses again on Kate and William as they welcome a son, Prince George, in London. George becomes third in line to inherit the British throne, after his grandfather Prince Charles and father Prince William.

William and Kate's families join together in October 2013 for the christening of Prince George, a first grandchild on both sides, at the Chapel Royal inside London's St. James's Palace.

William and Kate decide to bring Prince George along on their first royal tour as a family, following precedent set by William's own parents when they brought him Down Under on a 1983 tour. William, Kate, and George visit Australia and New Zealand in April 2014, earning new royal fans in both countries.

William and Kate are determined to raise George with as much privacy as possible, and to a large degree, they succeed. The family releases intermittent portraits to the public, including a special set of them at the Natural History Museum to mark his first birthday.

The Cambridge clan continues to grow with the announcement in the Fall of 2014 that Kate is again expecting. She experiences another round of severe morning sickness, causing a repeat of her pregnancy news leaking earlier than the family would have preferred. Nonetheless, she steps out in October 2014 to attend an engagement in London with William.

Kate's condition improves enough so that she is able to visit the United States with William in December 2014. It's Kate's first time in New York City, and she and William spend three days promoting British interests in the city, touring sights, and seeing old friends.

William and Kate, having left Wales at the end of William's Royal Air Force posting in 2013, decide to base themselves at a country home they're given on the queen's Sandringham estate in Eastern England. After a lengthy renovation, the family happily settles into country life, following royal tradition and spending Christmas there. They also, of course, keep a place in London, occupying a large apartment in Kensington Palace when business takes them to town.

Kate becomes increasingly confident championing issues close to her heart as a working royal, including children's services, art, and natural history. William and Kate team up for her last trio of royal engagements in the Spring of 2015, just weeks before their baby is due.

Prince George officially becomes an older brother! Kate gives birth to a beautiful baby girl named Princess Charlotte at St. Mary's Hospital in London. Charlotte becomes the fourth in line for the British throne.

William and Kate take their family on a ski vacation to the French Alps. Not only do we get a rare look at the family being candid and playful in the snow, but the trip also marks Charlotte's first family vacation and the first time George and Charlotte have ever played in the snow.

William, Kate, and George join Prince Harry and Queen Elizabeth II at the annual Trooping the Colour ceremony at Buckingham Palace. In addition to looking adorable in the same blue outfit William wore at the same milestone as a kid, the event marked George's first appearance on the balcony.

The British royal family gathers at the Church of St. Mary Magdalene for Charlotte's christening. Charlotte wore a replica of the royal christening robe that George wore for his baptism in 2013.

The couple makes a splash with their week-long tour of India and Bhutan. During their visit, William and Kate stop by the Taj Palace Hotel Memorial, attend a Bollywood-inspired charity gala, pay their respects at the Gandhi Smriti, and celebrate Queen Elizabeth II's upcoming 90th birthday at a garden party.

The royal family looks picture-perfect at the annual Trooping the Colour parade. While this is George's second time at the fete, the royal affair marks Charlotte's Buckingham Palace balcony debut.

William and Kate embark on an eight-day tour of Canada with George and Charlotte in tow. The trip marks both Charlotte and George's first tours, and while there, the family visits the Great Bear Rainforest, Bella Bella (an Indian reserve), and Haida Gwaii (formerly known as the Queen Charlotte Islands).

Kensington Palace announces that William and Kate are expecting their third child. The palace also reveals that Kate is once again suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum, and Kate cancels her planned engagement at Hornsey Road Children's Centre.

Kate debuts her tiny baby bump at a reception at Buckingham Place in honor of World Mental Health Day with William. According to Us Weekly, Will and Kate are going to leave the baby's sex "to surprise this time."
