Following his Purpose album-launch concert, the singer dove into the real reason he was so emotional lately in an interview with Entertainment Tonight in November. He revealed, "I think it just shows how much I care. I care about this project so much and I've put my heart and soul into it. I believe it was something I needed to learn. I'm stubborn, I've always been really stubborn, so I think if I would've known I could just be myself, but I don't think I knew my self-worth enough."
