Idris Elba Always Seems to Tower Over His Costars, So Exactly How Tall Is He?

We've all seen the photos of actor Idris Elba towering over his costars, but exactly how tall is the James Bond front runner and People's Sexiest Man Alive? Well, he actually isn't as tall as you'd think — he stands at just over 6'2". That's 1.9 meters, metric fans. And while it's definitely above average, he won't be winning any Guinness World Records anytime soon.

It just so happens that many actors are under six feet tall, so when he's snapped next to them, he looks a lot taller. The stars of Idris's latest directing project, Yardie, are particularly short-statured: Aml Ameen is 5'7" (1.7 meters), whereas Stephen Graham is a petite 5'5" (1.65 meters). So although Elba really isn't the giant he appears to be, it's not often someone measures up when snapped alongside him. Kate Winslet, Idris's costar in The Mountain Between Us, is taller than the average British woman at just over 5'6" (1.68 meters), but even when she's in heels, Idris has a few inches on her.

One woman who does stand up to Idris, however, is his beautiful fiancée, Sabrina Dhowre. The model is 5'11", the perfect match for her suave husband-to-be. No wonder they look so good together.
