Michael Douglas Shares an Emotional Speech During His Hollywood Walk of Fame Ceremony

Michael Douglas finally received one of the highest honors of an actor's career on Tuesday when he was presented a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He was surrounded by family and friends, including his wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones, his son Cameron Douglas, and his father, 1960s Spartacus star Kirk Douglas. During the ceremony, Michael, who has been in the Hollywood scene for about five decades, gave a heartfelt speech about having his loved ones by his side for the big moment.

"Let's face it, this is a great honor and I'm not getting any younger," the 74-year-old actor said. "I'm going to enjoy it with my wife and my son and my caretakers and my great-great-grandkids." He further acknowledged Catherine, adding, "I'm grateful for your support and your love and your patience. By the way, in another week we are celebrating our 18th anniversary, so thank you for the best 18 years of my life, sweetheart!"

But the Ant-Man and the Wasp star got even more emotional while addressing his father. "My dad is here. In a month, Kirk will be 102 years old!" he said. "It means so much to me, Dad, that you're here today. Thank you for your advice, inspiration, and I'll say it simply and with all my heart: I'm so proud to be your son."
