Very little is known about Jackson's brief offscreen relationship with his "Dawson's Creek" costar (who played his character Pacey's onscreen love interest Joey), but it was seemingly a bright spot for Holmes in the early days of filming their hit '90s show.
When asked about their rumored romance by Rolling Stone in a September 1998 interview, Holmes played coy but didn't deny they'd had a romantic relationship, sharing, "I'm just going to say that I met somebody last year. I fell in love, I had my first love, and it was something so incredible and indescribable that I will treasure it always."
The pair had already amicably broken up by that point, however. She continued, "I feel so fortunate because he's now one of my best friends. It's weird, it's almost like a Dawson-and-Joey type thing now . . . He's been in the business so long, and he's really helped me. I respect him as a friend and as a professional."
