14 Reasons Chrissy Teigen Is the Role Model We All Need

Chrissy has authored two successful cookbooks, filled to the edges with irresistible recipes, and she's far from done thrilling us with her culinary prowess. Her next target audience: the toddler set. Yep, she has a kids' cookbook in the works, complete with simple dishes for even the pickiest of palettes.

"I know kids have really simple palates and we all want to make them more refined," she announced during last year's #CRAVINGSFEST. "But they're just kids, so we're gonna do stuff that kids are going to love."

Earlier this year, Chrissy took to Twitter to reveal that "a very common question when interviewing John is basically 'how do you deal with your wife' and . . . I don't love it." She said he's frequently asked if she runs things by him before she tweets them, and the answer is no. "I don't care and he doesn't care. End of question," Chrissy wrote. "But it's not even that. It's just that I am a different human than him? It is theeeee most common question with him. Please stop."

John also chimed in and was supportive as ever. "Yeah my wife is brilliant, savvy, funny as hell, and clearly better at social media than me. She doesn't need my advice or censorship when it comes to how she communicates with the public," he wrote.

Chrissy started off in the fashion world, and it shows. Whether she's showing off her enviable street style, working a red carpet, giving us a glimpse of her amazing bod on the beach, or creating her own collection of clothing for Revolve, she inspires us to take fashion risks and hope we can pull them off half as well as she does.

Earlier this year, Chrissy celebrated Miles's 9-month birthday the way many Pinterest-obsessed moms do — with a monthly milestone photo shoot, complete with a personalized chalkboard of stats, which she posted on Instagram.

But things then took a hilarious turn when Chrissy got John in on the monthly milestone action, too. She hilariously captioned the one of her husband, "Wow, they grow up so fast."

Chrissy is so close with her mom that she moved her in! Chrissy's mom, Vilailuck, lives with her, John, and their kids. "We have such a unique relationship; we're so close — she's still my mother, but obviously I'm old enough now where we've become best friends," Chrissy told POPSUGAR in an interview.

"She's just a ball of energy! She just never, ever is cranky. I think that's the weirdest thing about her. I'm such a moody person. When I'm sad, I'm very sad, when I'm happy, I'm really happy — I'm all over the place. But with her, she's just so happy and so excited. Everything excites her."

We knew Chrissy and John's kids were going to be cute, but no one could have predicted just how cute. When Chrissy recently shared a video of Luna playing with her baby brother Miles, who wears a cranial helmet to fix the flat part of his head, we could only wish we were invited to the play date. Chrissy captioned the photo "finally playing together!!"

Chrissy is pretty much the mayor of Twitter, whether she's showing off her a new drool-worthy recipe, chronicling the latest hilarious happenings in the Teigen-Legend household, or clapping back at critics who are silly enough to call her out about anything, including her latest hairstyle.

She may be a great mom and a serious boss, but Chrissy also knows how to party, as evidenced by her tweets about attending the Critics' Choice Awards with a serious hangover, courtesy of husband John's 40th birthday party the night before. She followed that up by live tweeting the epic hangover she was dealing after attending the star-studded Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty.

The edible goodness never stops coming from Chrissy. Case in point: her Lemony Arugula Spaghetti Cacio e Pepe from her first cookbook, Cravings, basically a combination of spaghetti aglio e olio and cacio e pepe . . . plus pancetta, because pancetta makes everything better. We're equally into her chicken pot pie soup and spicy deviled eggs.

Chrissy is constantly showing off her delicious creations, and when Twitter wanted to know how she looks so good and eats so much pasta, she answered honestly. "Basically I am 20 pounds heavier than I was before Miles," she wrote. "He's 10 months old, I never lost the last bit because I just love food too much. Just coming to terms with my new normal, when I had this certain number for so long!"

She also made a point to note that her new normal includes improved mental health. "The thinnest I've ever been was right after Luna . . . postpartum depression," she recalled. "I'll take these pounds and this feeling!"

In 2017, Chrissy opened up about her postpartum depression with a raw and honest open letter. "I have postpartum depression. How can I feel this way when everything is so great?" she wrote in the letter. "But it's such a major part of my life and so, so many other women's lives. It would feel wrong to write anything else."

And last year, she revealed how she got her mental health on track in Women's Health. "It's like, what could be more important than mental health? What's more important than being proud of yourself and doing the best you can for your body?" she told the magazine.

Chrissy shared a video earlier this year of Luna reading names from Little Feminist: Artists from the popular Little Feminist Board Book Set series, and we weren't surprised that she's already teaching her 2-year-old about the great women of history. Chrissy and John have had their beloved dogs for years, but the newest member of the Teigen-Legend family might be the funniest yet: a hamster named Peanut Butter. In a hilarious Twitter thread, she described how confusing taking care of a tiny little rodent can be and how their newest family member is assimilating. Judging by the video she shared of Peanut Butter joining in on their daily dance party, it's going pretty well.

Not every model/celebrity would be willing to show off her thigh and butt hives, but Chrissy isn't like any other model/celebrity, as evidenced by her Twitter reveal earlier this year. The only question left: what will she show off at POPSUGAR Play/Ground?
