It's About Time We Show Kevin Jonas More Love

Since the Jonas Brothers first rose to fame in 2006, Joe and Nick were both positioned as the frontmen of the group, singing lead on the majority of the songs and taking center stage at shows. As a result, Kevin had less of a spotlight. I'll admit it: I was a hardcore Nick fan growing up, but since the Jonas Brothers reunited, I've seen a completely different side of Kevin. He seems more confident and outspoken, and — let's state the obvious here — he looks amazing. I've slowly been jumping onboard the Team Kevin train this year, but now after watching the Jonas Brothers documentary, Chasing Happiness, I'm officially all in.

"That might have been the hardest moment in my entire life," Kevin says through tears, as I tried to hold back my own.

Not only does the film — which dropped on Amazon on June 4 — recount the group's rise to fame, but it also discusses their fallout as brothers after their 2013 breakup. In one scene, Kevin opens up about the time Joe and Nick did a radio music festival without him shortly after the Jonas Brothers broke up — and, whew, it's a lot. Although Nick and Joe assured Kevin that he didn't need to attend because they wouldn't be playing Jonas Brothers songs, Kevin explains that the entire set ended up being their biggest hits; even the Jonas Brothers band was there! "I think that might have been the hardest moment in my entire life," Kevin says through tears, as I tried to hold back my own.

Things really come out in the open when the brothers play a drinking game and answer each other's most burning questions. When Kevin asks why his brothers did a show without him, Joe gets brutally honest. "We felt like you were holding us back," Joe says bluntly, explaining that after Kevin got married, they felt like he started to put his family before the band (is that really a bad thing, though?). Following the intense moment, Kevin tells the camera that he's always felt like the odd man out in the band and still gets confused for Nick and Joe to this day. Sorry, but a true Jonas Brothers fan would never.

Not only is the scene incredibly heartbreaking, but it really made me see Kevin in a whole new light. As the brothers get ready to go on this new journey together, it's time Kevin gets his rightful chance to shine. Here are just a few reasons why I'm officially team Kevin (and you should be, too).

He's a Natural Entertainer

In the documentary, Joe says that Kevin's guitar playing eventually fell in the back seat when it came to the band, but what he fails to recognize is that Kevin is so much more than just a guitar player! Sure, Nick plays multiple instruments and Joe sings lead, but Kevin lights up the stage with his infectious energy (see: his famous "S.O.S" dance at concerts). Every time I went to a Jonas Brothers concert, he always got the crowd going with his crazy spins, acrobatics, and hilarious facial expressions. He is the true hype man of the group!

In addition to his performances on stage, Kevin is also a natural entertainer onscreen. While Joe is often regarded as the jokester of the group, Kevin has always offered comic relief with his roles in Camp Rock and on the show JONAS. Who else could make an obsession with birds and birdhouses endearing? He's just a lovable goofball!

He's Incredibly Handsome

Let's be real: Kevin is one attractive human being. I don't know if it's the facial hair, the haircut (no more mutton chops!), or the bulging biceps, but he really long-bottomed since the brothers broke up in 2013, and fans are starting to take notice. Just because he doesn't post shirtless selfies like his brothers, doesn't mean that he's not just as much of a heartthrob. After all, he was on People's Sexiest Men Alive list before his brothers.

He's a Loving Husband

Of course, one of Kevin's most attractive qualities is how much he loves his wife, Danielle. The two have been together since 2007, and their long-lasting love still gives me butterflies. While Danielle is a huge supporter of her husband, it's clear that Kevin is her number one fan as he posts sweet messages to her on social media and looks completely in love whenever they hit the red carpet together. During a recent press trip with the Jonas Brothers, he left her cards to open for every day he was away. Come on, that's straight out of a romantic comedy! He's a Dedicated Family Man

In addition to being a loving husband, Kevin is also a loving father to his two daughters, Alena, 5, and Valentina, 2. While Joe and Nick developed their own successful solo careers after the Jonas Brothers broke up, Kevin took on a new role as a father just as successfully. As Joe explains in the documentary, Kevin really became a leader when he started having kids. Whether he's gushing about his little ones on social media or rocking out to the Jonas Brothers with them, seeing Kevin in dad mode makes my heart burst every time.

He Completes the Jonas Brothers

Plain and simple, the Jonas Brothers wouldn't be the Jonas Brothers without Kevin (literally, he's the first born). From his guitar playing to his sweet personality, he brings a special dynamic to the trio, and it's time he gets the recognition he deserves. Seriously, I'm waiting for that Kevin solo!
