Miley Cyrus Is Spotted Kissing Kaitlynn Carter in Italy Amid Liam Hemsworth Split

Miley Cryus and Kaitlynn Carter were spotted kissing in Italy, shortly before news of Miley and Liam Hemsworth's breakup was confirmed. The 26-year-old "Mother's Daughter" singer and 30-year-old The Hills star got cozy during their vacation on Aug. 9, locking lips and basking in the sun. Miley — who fans noticed wasn't wearing her wedding ring — donned a black bikini, and Kaitlynn wore a white two-piece with a sun hat as they relaxed together on a lounge chair at the Il Sereno Hotel.

"They were not trying to hide it at all. There were other people sitting by the pool," a source told Entertainment Tonight before dishing on Miley and Kaitlynn's other escapades throughout the trip. "They were fully on a date, getting drinks, just the two of them," the source added. "They even got a couple of massages at the hotel." However, another source told People that Miley and Kaitlynn have mutual friends and are "just having fun" together.

Their PDA comes shortly after news of their respective breakups made headlines. On Aug. 2, Kaitlynn's split from Brody Jenner, 35, was confirmed by their reps. "Brody Jenner and Kaitlynn Carter have decided to amicably separate," they revealed to People. "They love and respect one another, and know that this is the best decision for their relationship moving forward." The two held a wedding ceremony in Indonesia in June 2018, though they were never legally married as they didn't make their union official.

Just a week later on Aug. 10, Miley's split from Liam, 29, was also announced. "Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time," Miley's rep said in a statement. "Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what's best while they both focus on themselves and careers. They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy."

The two were married for only seven months (though their relationship has been on and off for a decade). They wed in a private Tennessee ceremony on Dec. 23, 2018, and appeared to be enjoying their new life as spouses, hitting up red carpets events together, being cute on social media, and gushing about their romance.

Miley even recently opened up about their marriage in Elle's August issue. "I think it's very confusing to people that I'm married, but my relationship is unique . . . It's so complex and modern and new that I don't think we're in a place where people would get it," she said. "Do people really think that I'm at home in a f*cking apron cooking dinner? I'm in a hetero relationship, but I still am very sexually attracted to women. I made a partner decision. This is the person I feel has my back the most. I definitely don't fit into a stereotypical wife role. I don't even like that word."

Miley, Liam, Kaitlynn, and Brody have yet to publicly address their separations, but Brody did comment "Hot girl summer" under a photo Kaitlynn posted with Miley during their Italian getaway.
