May 4, 2017: Palace announces Prince Phillip will retire from royal duties

After 70 years, the palace announced Prince Phillip is retiring from royal duties. Formally known as the Duke of Edinburgh, Phillip has been a full-fledged royal since marrying Queen Elizabeth in 1947. It's been quite the ride, and the Duke finally decided to take it easy at 96 years old.
