From Justin Bieber to Rihanna, Stars Are Giving Back During the Coronavirus Outbreak

The actress announced that her organization, the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project, will launch an initiative called Together For Her to raise money for domestic violence shelters and community-based programs that combat gender-based violence. Charlize pledged $500,000 to the new cause, as well as an additional $500,000 to other COVID-19 relief efforts.

"During this unprecedented global crisis, we are being told to shelter in the safety of our homes — but what if our homes aren't safe?" Charlize wrote on Instagram. "For the millions of women and children around the world sheltering with their abuser, home can be dangerous . . . Please join us in showing women experiencing domestic violence that they are not alone — we are behind them, with them, for them, #TogetherForHer."
