What to Know About Will and Jada Pinkett Smith's Family of 5

Willard Carroll "Trey" Smith III was born Nov. 11, 1992. He is Will's oldest son and the only child he shares with his first wife, Sheree Zampino. Though Will and Trey weren't always close, they have repaired their relationship and are tight now. Trey frequently posts pictures on Instagram calling his dad his "guy" and his best friend, and he even posts pictures of Jada calling her his "bonus mom." The actor and musician also is super supportive of his younger siblings, often posting pictures of their career endeavors and talking about how proud he is of them.

Jaden was born on July 8, 1998, and he's following in his famous parents' footsteps. In addition to appearing in a handful of movies and TV shows like "All of Us," "The Pursuit of Happyness," "The Karate Kid," and "Entergalactic" over the years, Jaden is also a musician. He released his debut solo album "Syre" in 2017 and has continued to release music since then.

In a 2022 interview on BigBoy TV, Jaden said he never intended to pursue the same industry as his parents. "There was never that expectation. And definitely not going into hip-hop. We knew that when I was young I would try to mess around making movies because my dad would just film me and my sister and we would make 'Tratrix,' Matrix spin-offs. We would do all types of stuff. Already improvising things," he said. "I thought that's just how it was. I thought everybody's parents made movies, and I thought that everyone made movies with their kids, too."

In her Oct. 11 interview with People, Jada revealed that Jaden inspired her to take ayahuasca for the first time, and confirmed that her kids had tried the powerful hallucinogen — "as adults." "I've learned how to tune into each one of them and understand their superpowers," she said of her children. "And so when Jaden came to me that day and he's like, 'Mom, you got to to hear this. My friend's dad, he had this experience. I need you to come in here and listen.' I'm like, 'I'm there. What is it?' And it opened up a whole new world of healing that I'm so grateful for."

Willow was born on Oct. 31, 2000, and just like her parents, she's also built a career as a musician and actor. Throughout the years, she's appeared in numerous projects, including "I Am Legend," "Madagascar 2," and "Adventure Time." And at just 9 years old, she released her viral hit "Whip My Hair," which she's since followed up with five studio albums and countless hits.

"Me being 9 and saying 'I whip my hair back and forth' as a symbol of internal freedom and self-love was so authentic for me," she told Billboard in August 2022. "My message hasn't changed. I'm still saying in many ways, 'Live loud, live freely, and be your most creative and potent self.'"

Willow's father, however, has different feelings about her early music career. During the Aug. 3 episode of Kevin Hart's "Hart to Heart" series, Will shared regrets about pushing his then-9-year-old daughter into the spotlight, noting that "nobody" in his family "was happy" at that point, per E! News. "No one wanted to be in a platoon. Willow was the first one to begin the mutiny and it was my first realization that success and money don't mean happiness," he said. "Up until that point, I really believed that you could succeed your way — to a house and a family — and you could win your way to happiness." Will added, "I was driving the people around me in a way that I was leaving scorched earth around me."

Willow previously admitted feelings of resentment toward her father for pushing her into the spotlight so young. On a 2018 episode of "Red Table Talk," which she cohosted with her mother Jada, she said, "I definitely had to forgive you and daddy for that whole 'Whip My Hair' thing. It was mostly daddy because he was so harsh at certain times. It was a couple of years, honestly. Trying to regain trust for not feeling like I was being listened to or like no one cared how I felt."
