Axl Jack Duhamel was born on Aug. 29, 2013. He is Fergie's only son and the only child she shares with ex-husband Josh. Fergie and Axl are best buds, and Axl can often be found at his famous mom's side — including at a Black Lives Matter protest in June 2020. She captioned a picture she shared on Instagram that June with, "It starts at home. #BLM."
Axl splits his time between his parents, in a coparenting effort that Fergie says is going well. "I love Josh," she said on "The Talk" in 2017. "We're making it work. We're both working full-time right now. We are just making it happen. We've got Axl and we're just working parents." She added in a 2017 interview with Wendy Williams, "We forever have the project [of parenting] together. And we're doing the best we can."
In February 2022, a source updated People on the status of their coparenting relationship after Josh's engagement to his now-wife Audra Mari. "Fergie is genuinely happy for Josh," the source said. "They co-parent really beautifully together and communicate about many things. They both want happiness for the other and cheer each other on still. They don't do everything in the world together, but seem pretty united for the sake of their son at all times and do occasionally spend family-related things together. There seems to be zero bad blood."
