Everyone Kaia Gerber Dated Before Connecting With Austin Butler

Kaia Gerber is one of Hollywood's up-and-coming stars. She's followed in the footsteps of her mom, Cindy Crawford, into modeling, and she's been slowly dipping her toe into the world of acting. She previously appeared in the American Horror Story franchise, and in 2022, she had a small role in "Babylon." This summer, she appears alongside Rachel Sennott and Ayo Edebiri in the queer teen comedy "Bottoms," which really lets her flex her comedy chops, and later this year she'll appear in the Apple TV+ period comedy "Palm Royale." All of that makes her one half of Hollywood's biggest power couples, since she's currently dating Oscar nominee Austin Butler. They were first publicly linked in late 2021.

But before she coupled up with the "Elvis" actor, Gerber had some other very buzzy celebrity exes. In 2019, she briefly dated "Saturday Night Live" star Pete Davidson. And before Butler, she was linked to "Euphoria" and "The Kissing Booth" star Jacob Elordi. They were together for about a year before splitting in the fall of 2021. During their romance, Gerber was pretty effusive about their bond. She told Vogue in 2021, "Being able to be with someone I trust, where we don't want anything from each other, having a safe, steady relationship like that, has really opened my eyes to the possibilities of love and what it feels like to love without conditions. Lust is touching other people or wanting them, but love is really seeing someone."

Wellington Grant

Gerber and fellow model Wellington Grant first sparked dating rumors in February 2019 after they were spotted holding hands while out and about in NYC. According to Us Weekly, the two were also seen leaving the Mercer Hotel together on Valentine's Day. The models quietly dated for a few months, and though it's unclear when they broke up, their last public sighting was in April 2019 when Grant joined Gerber for dinner with her parents, per Just Jared. During a September 2019 interview with British Vogue, Gerber said her work schedule didn't allow much time for dating. "When I'm working, I don't have the energy to even flirt with anyone," she said.

Pete Davidson

In October 2019, Gerber was photographed getting lunch with Davidson, and soon after, an insider for Us Weekly claimed they were dating after Gerber attended Davidson's comedy show in November. Things progressed quickly after that, as they were spotted holding hands in NYC and making out in Miami, but in January 2020, the lovebirds decided to take a break so Davidson could focus on his mental health, according to a source for E! News. In February 2020, during a YouTube interview with Charlamagne tha God, Davidson opened up about their romance, saying they were "dating for a few months," but "it just wasn't the right place or the right time at all."

Jacob Elordi

Rumors began circulating about a possible relationship between Gerber and Elordi after they were seen getting dinner together at Nobu restaurant in Malibu, CA, in September 2020. Though a source reportedly told E! News at the time that "there is nothing serious going on" between the two, the couple were spotted just days later strolling around NYC hand in hand. The two dated for a year before eventually splitting in November 2021.

Austin Butler

Gerber is currently dating Butler. The pair were spotted together in December 2021, a few months after he wrapped filming on "Elvis." Gerber mostly sat out of attending award show ceremonies with Butler during award season, though they did appear together at the Vanity Fair Oscars party. In April, they attended the Time100 Gala together.

Despite their fame, both of them have stayed pretty private about their romance. When GQ asked Butler about their relationship in 2022, he said, "I don't think there's anything I want to share about that but thank you for providing the space."

Gerber's mom Crawford opened up about why her daughter tries to balance keeping her relationship on the private side with still living her life in a May 15 interview with People. "I think that she kind of sees how my husband [Rande Gerber] and I have dealt with it throughout the years," Crawdford said. "Which is not like, we don't ever try to, 'Oh, we can't go there because we might get photographed.'" She added, "She seems like she has a very good head on her shoulders and is figuring out how she wants to create that private work-public balance."
