Only Thing Better Than "Power Book II: Ghost"? Michael Rainey Jr. and Gianni Paolo's Friendship

If you've been keeping up with "Power Book II: Ghost," then you know costars Michael Rainey Jr. (Tariq St. Patrick) and Gianni Paolo (Brayden Weston) are as thick as thieves in real life as they are on screen. In the show, the two play each other's best friends/literal partners in crime, and offscreen, their brotherhood is just as tight.

The dynamic duo met each other while filming season five of "Power" in 2017 when their characters both attended the prestigious school Choate Rosemary Hall. Now, acting alongside each other in four episodes of the flagship series and now three (going on four) seasons of their own spinoff has led to a very close friendship off-set as well — they've even gone into business with each other. As reported by Deadline, Rainey Jr. and Paolo launched their Twenty Two Entertainment company in 2022 — which allows them to produce films, TV series, and multimedia ventures, like their fan-favorite podcast "The Crew Has It," now in its second season.

Of being paired with Paolo onscreen, Rainey Jr. told Entertainment Weekly in 2021, "Man, I was super-hype because we got great chemistry. Getting the opportunity for us to showcase that more now is dope." His costar also added that he loves how the two have bonded over the years, saying "That's why I love working with Mike so much because I've never had that with any other actor."

The actors' onscreen friendship continues to grow in Power Book II: Ghost," with Rainey Jr. and Paolo previously telling POPSUGAR that they're slowly but surely becoming a young Ghost St. Patrick and Tommy Egan (the lead duo of "Power") — just as fans have suspected. "We do have a lot of similarities, but I think that dynamic is what people pull mostly from it," Paolo said.

Hopefully, we'll get some more memorable moments from these two just like their predecessors, both on and offscreen. Scroll ahead to see more of the actors' heartwarming friendship.
