Billy Ray and Tish met in 1991, shortly before the release of Billy Ray's hit single "Achy Breaky Heart," per People. After marrying Tish in 1993, Billy Ray adopted her two kids, Brandi and Trace, and the pair welcomed three more kids during their marriage — Miley, Braison, and Noah. But after 28 years of marriage, Tish filed for divorce from Billy Ray in April.
The couple addressed their separation in a joint statement shared with People. "It is after 30 years, five amazing children and a lifetime of memories, we have decided to go our separate ways — not with sadness, but with love in our hearts," it read. ". . . We have not come to this decision lightly or quickly but with so much going on in the world, we wanted to provide some clarity and closure, so we can remain focused on what is important. With Love and Hope . . . Tish and Billy Ray Cyrus." This is the third time the pair have filed for divorce, though they were able to reconcile the previous two times.
In August, Billy Ray announced his engagement to singer–songwriter Firerose. Meanwhile, Tish is currently dating music manager Dominic Purcell, per People.
