Vanessa and Natalia Bryant Had a Mother-Daughter Night Out at the Vanity Fair Oscars Party

While nominees mainly attend the prestigious Oscars award ceremony — sometimes with their spouses and other times with their children or siblings — when it comes to the Oscars afterparties, most of Hollywood's best and brightest make the invite list, film involvement or not. At the Vanity Fair Oscars party on March 12, Vanessa Bryant, 40, and her daughter Natalia Bryant, 20, were in attendance looking glamorous in matching black floor-length gowns. While Vanessa's was a sequined number, Natalia's dress was off the shoulder and featured trains flowing from the sleeves.

In 2018, Vanessa attended the Oscars with her late husband, NBA player Kobe Bryant, when he won the Oscar for best animated short film for "Dear Basketball," a six-minute onscreen telling of his poem of the same name, which traces his love of basketball from youth to his NBA success. Kobe, as well as his and Vanessa's daughter Gianna Bryant, tragically died in a helicopter crash in January 2020, along with seven others on the flight. Kobe was 41 years old, while Gianna was just 13. On March 1 of this year, Vanessa reached a nearly $29 million settlement with Los Angeles County over photos that were shared of the crash.

Today, the nonprofit Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation continues Kobe and Gianna's legacies by, according to the organization's website, "creating impact for underserved athletes and boys and girls in sports."
