Ben Barnes makes us swoon every time his "Shadow and Bone" character General Kirigan appears on screen. He's not only handsome but powerful and incredibly intelligent, too. It's no wonder the show's protagonist, Alina Starkov (Jessie Mei Li), falls for his character throughout the series. While General Kirigan has quickly become one of Barnes's most iconic roles, his performances as Prince Caspian in "The Chronicles of Narnia" films, Logan Delos in "Westworld," and Billy Russo/Jigsaw in Marvel's "The Punisher" were just as amazing.

Despite being one of the biggest heartthrobs around, though, not much is known about Barnes's romantic life. The actor is a pro at keeping his personal life private. Tamsin Egerton (2009)

Barnes was once romantically linked with British actor Tamsin Egerton. In September 2009, the Daily Mail reported Egerton visited Barnes in Australia, where he was filming "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" at the time. "Tamsin hooked up with Ben a couple of times and there was a lot of talk about how close they were," a source told the publication. However, after asking Egerton about the rumors, she denied there was anything romantic going on between the pair. "I tried to set him up with one of my friends once but he wouldn't bite," she said.

Felicity Jones (2014)

In October 2014, dating rumors between Barnes and British actor Felicity Jones swirled after the pair posed for photos together at the Britannia Awards. The stars were spotted sharing a car together at LAX airport just weeks later in photos published by Just Jared.

On the surface, it may have looked like the two were more than just friends, however, it all appeared to be a misunderstanding. According to the Daily Mail, Barnes and Jones were on the same flight, and after landing at LAX, Barnes saw the "Inferno" star waiting for her limo. Since they were friends, he naturally asked her to wait with him inside his car until her ride arrived.

They weren't seen together in public again after that, causing the dating rumors to fizzle out as quickly as they began.

Julianne Hough (2020-2022)

After People reported Julianne Hough and her then-husband Brooks Laich were having marriage problems in January 2020, the pair sparked rumors they had split when the "Dancing With the Stars" alum was spotted hanging out with Barnes in photos obtained by the Daily Mail that April. They were photographed taking a walk in Los Angeles around the same that news came out that Hough and Laich were no longer living together amid the pandemic. According to People, the couple was "still together," but chose to temporarily live apart. "Their relationship has always been like this," a source told the publication. "They like to do their own thing."

That May, Hough and Laich announced they were separating. Months later, in January 2021, Barnes and the "Safe Haven" star sparked dating rumors again when E! News reported they had gone on an ice cream date together in Los Angeles. While a witness reportedly told the publication the pair looked "very flirty" together, a separate source said the stars "have been friends for eight years "and that there was "nothing more" to their relationship.

Neither Barnes nor Hough have ever publicly addressed the dating speculation.
