While Rivera and Zegler may have met while filming "West Side Story," it wasn't until February 2022 that they confirmed their relationship on Instagram in honor of Valentine's Day. From then on, their social media pages began to fill up with tributes about each other — but they were hinting at their romance long before their confirmation.
Two months prior to going public, the couple teased their relationship on social media, showing that they spent Christmas together. "Spending christmas eve with a man i have never met before," Zegler joked alongside a series of Instagram pics featuring Rivera. "Maybe you know him, he seems pretty cool— like he could be the love child of iron man and john wick, idk though."
Later that same month, Zegler and Rivera attended the Oscars together, where the movie that brought them together was nominated for best picture. Their red carpet appearances would continue the following month, when they stepped out for the Grammys.
In June 2022, it was announced that Zegler and Rivera would once again grace the big screen together when they were cast in the Hunger Games prequel movie, "The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes."
And Zegler once again praised Rivera in a post in November 2022, writing, "to my favorite actor in the world, josh rivera, i love you so much. more and more each day. i am so glad we did this together."
