In a January 2022 interview with W Magazine, Dakota revealed she had wanted to act for as long as she could remember. "I couldn't wait because I grew up on set. My parents were always working with amazing artists, and I just loved it," she said. "I wanted to be a part of it so badly." When she told her parents about her dream to become an actress, Dakota said they "discouraged" her from joining the industry, but nothing could change her mind.
