If you thought listening to Beyoncé's single "Spirit" was a blessing, just wait until you watch her latest music video, featuring Blue Ivy Carter. Bey initially dropped the stunning clip for the song on July 19, but she's now released an extended cut for both "Spirit" and "BIGGER," which are featured on her new album, The Lion King: The Gift. Originally released by Disney on July 9, "Spirit" serves as both a feature on the official soundtrack for the live-action Lion King remake, as well as the title track for the 37-year-old musician's curated compilation.
While both songs are beautiful ballads all about being ready to embrace your destiny, the music video takes things to another level. It opens up with two men singing in Swahili (a nod to The Lion King's African roots) and features Beyoncé against the picturesque background of the Havasu Falls in the Havasupai Reservation. Blue, 7, also makes even more special appearances by her mom's side in the extended version.
Interwoven between scenes from The Lion King, Beyoncé belts out the inspirational lyrics to the song, singing, "Spirit, can you hear it calling?/ Yeah/ Your destiny is coming close, stand up and fight/ So go into that far-off land/ And be one with the great I am, I am." If the lyrics don't have you feeling a shift in your spirit, the power of the backing choir (also featured in the video) definitely will!
