Can We Handle Cher's Broadway Musical? I Really Don't Think We're Strong Enough, No

Cher's life is finally getting the stage adaptation it so deserves. Following earlier reports that the iconic multihyphenate would be inspiring a Broadway musical, additional details have finally been released. Titled The Cher Show, the musical will include everything from her childhood to her impressive career. In a press statement, Cher said, "My life as a musical on Broadway. It seems crazy, exciting, and bizarre. But that's probably how my life seems to most people." Cher would be correct in that assumption.

Directing the musical will be Jason Moore, who previously directed Avenue Q and the stage adaptation of Steel Magnolias. Fun fact: the first film Moore ever directed was Pitch Perfect! Though the cast has yet to be determined, the musical is set to premiere first in Chicago on June 12, 2018, before arriving at Broadway's Neil Simon Theatre in Fall 2018.
