Michael Myers's bloodshed is far from over, people. Thanks to the celebrated reboot of Halloween that stalked into theaters last year (and the fact it became the highest-grossing installment in the classic horror franchise), Universal has confirmed that two sequels are officially on the way.

David Gordon Green and Danny McBride will return to write both of the new films in the rebooted trilogy, with Green on board as director. The films — titled Halloween Kills (due out on Oct. 16, 2020) and Halloween Ends (Oct. 15, 2021) — will also see the return of Jamie Lee Curtis's tough-as-nails Laurie Strode. Although the plots for each of the spooky follow-ups are still under wraps, we can assume that Michael escaped the fiery trap Laurie laid for him at the conclusion of Halloween and is eager to continue his reign of terror.

As far as the rest of the story is concerned, hopefully we'll see the return of Judy Greer as Laurie's estranged daughter, Karen, and Andi Matichak as Laurie's granddaughter, Allyson. All three generations of the Strode family survived their first joint run-in with Michael, but we have a feeling the end of the trilogy will see at least one of them being killed off. Uh-oh.
