It's a tale as old as time: a young muse inspires a dejected older man to seize the day again! The trailer for Woody Allen's new film, Irrational Man, is here, and it's very . . . Woody Allen. Emma Stone (who starred in the director's 2014 movie, Magic in the Moonlight) plays a student opposite a possibly alcoholic philosophy professor played by Joaquin Phoenix. They clearly share a bond, but a fellow teacher (Parker Posey) is also pursuing him. Once the women bring him out of his funk, they find themselves strangely less attracted to him. Though the cast is impressive, it's hard to get past the fact that this plot feels wholly unoriginal. Then again, there's always some thoughtful and witty dialogue to look forward to in Allen's movies. Irrational Man is out July 17, and you can check out the trailer below.
