Somebody tell Merry and Pippin to prepare themselves, because we've got some news — there's a new line of Lord of the Rings wines, and they come even larger than pints! Lot18 collaborated with the film franchise to create four distinct wines to reflect some of the most memorable characters from the movies; Aragorn, Gandalf, Frodo, and Galadriel each have their own limited-edition bottle and varietal.
Only 6,000 of each bottle will be created, so be sure to grab yours before they sell out! You can grab all four of the wines for $75 or pick and choose your favorite character to sip over second breakfast, elevensies, or whichever meal tickles your fancy. Based on the descriptions below, we can't decide which sounds tastiest!
Aragorn: 2015 Appellation Lussac-St. Émilion Controlée ($25) — "Rich, concentrated, and built to last, it's intensely expressive of its terroir, displaying black-fruit flavors and polished tannins on the palate."
Galadriel: 2016 Bordeaux Blanc ($18) — "The most noble and powerful of the Elves is honored by this high-toned wine, a Bordeaux Blanc with piercing citrus flavors and remarkable concentration."
Gandalf: 2016 Monterey County Pinot Noir ($20) — "Like the wise old wanderer, this subtle yet complex red is unassuming at first glance, but quickly revealed to be spirited and persuasive, with black raspberry, alpine strawberry, and forest floor flavors casting a spell over your palate, bringing you back sip after sip."
Frodo: 2016 Lodi Old Vine Zinfandel ($20) — "Vibrant flavors of blackberry, fig, and spiced plum carry through the warm, pleasing finish of this reliable wine."
