Statistically, 1981 was one of the most violent years for New York City, and the upcoming thriller A Most Violent Year tells the story of one family caught in the midst of all this crime. Oscar Isaac and Jessica Chastain play a husband and wife struggling to expand their business in a time of complete chaos. As you might deduce from the title, this doesn't go well, and throughout the year, things completely unravel. Between Isaac, who broke out in last year's Inside Llewyn Davis, and two-time Oscar nominee Chastain, I'm thinking this is going to be a big award season contender. The movie will be released on Dec. 31.
