Want to Know Who's in the Cult on AHS? This Theory About the Characters' Names Tells You

While it's somewhat obvious which American Horror Story: Cult characters are evil (*cough, Kai, cough*), this one theory connects all the potentially evil cult members, and it makes too much sense to ignore. During this week's episode, "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark," we were introduced to Ally and Ivy's new neighbor, Meadow Wilton (Leslie Grossman), who we flagged as suspicious the second she compared Beyoncé's "Lemonade" to her powder Crystal Light. But what's even more sketchy is that her name perfectly aligns with the other nature-inspired character names in the series thus far.

We get it, it's 2017 and people have some crazy names, but Reddit user thismaybemean brings up the idea that all the characters with nature-inspired names are cult members, and we're convinced. Read on to see the proof that all cult members have similar names.

Meadow

Meadow

Let's be real for a second: if you weren't a complete and utter weirdo, would you move into a home days after an alleged murder-suicide went down in the living room? Nah. Meadow openly talks about how she can't be in the sun for too long, yet she's married to a closeted beekeeper whose job requires being in the sun. She's a freak, but her love for SoulCycle and Nicole Kidman is hilarious. Chances that Meadow is a cult member? High.

Ivy

Ivy

From the start of the season, we had our suspicions about Ivy, but after the second episode started with her eating Cheetos, we lost all trust in her. She hired Winter as a babysitter without getting a background check, brought Ally's therapist into their home without telling her wife, and is losing her patience for Ally with each one of her crippling anxiety attacks. Chances that Ivy is a cult member? High.

Winter

Winter

Not only does she bear a strong resemblance to a Manson family member, but she snagged the job as Ozzy's babysitter pretty quickly, which instantly had us questioning if she was working with Ivy. Winter torments Ozzy about which one of his moms is his "real mom," shows him gruesome videos on the internet, and, oh yeah, forces him to watch his neighbors get murdered by clowns. As if she didn't win the worst babysitter ever award before, she creepily sponges Ally down in the bath and then disappears minutes later when the power goes out. Chances that Winter is a cult member? High.

Kai
FX

Kai

The name Kai means "ocean" in Hawaiian, and we literally don't need any additional proof that he's a cult member. His obsession with Donald Trump and the idea of fear comes full circle when he announces he's running for city council to fill the seat of the man who was murdered by clowns a few days prior. Coincidence? We think not. Chances that Kai is a cult member? Don't get higher.

Now, all we need are some evil clowns named Summer, Rain, or Forest for this theory to come full circle.
