Time after time, a good dance movie seems to hold a special place in our hearts. There is something about those enviable dance moves and a killer soundtrack that just keeps us wanting to watch, and try to emulate it, over and over again. YouTube Red's original movie, Dance Camp, is no exception.
When Hunter is forced to go to dance camp for the Summer, he can't imagine what's in store for him. Even though he's hesitant about fitting in at first, he becomes influenced by everyone's deep love for dance — especially his troupe's leader, Cheyenne, who's determined to go against current champion Lance and his crew in the Legend of Dance competition. Hunter quickly discovers that winning the competition will take more than a few dance moves — it requires strict dedication and, most importantly, teamwork. - You'll recognize a few familiar faces: While the stars may not be Hollywood royalty, neither were Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan when Step Up first came out. While they may not be household names (yet), some of your favorite Internet celebrities star in Dance Camp. You might recognize Nadji Jeter from movies like Grown Ups and The Fifth Wave — in Dance Camp, he plays newcomer Hunter. YouTubers Meg DeAngelis, Jordyn Jones, and Amymarie Gaertner show off their acting skills by playing Cheyenne, Yolo, and Vanessa while Vine star Jake Paul plays the rival team's leader, Lance.
- The dances moves are really, really good: It's going to be hard to sit still while watching this movie. Like our favorite dance movies of the past, the soundtrack is upbeat and will surely inspire you to try to replicate some of the amazing dance moves. Each team gets creative with costumes and lighting to put on unforgettable performances.
