While Las Vegas might already be overrun with "zombies" — think hangovers — Army of the Dead shows we haven't truly seen THAT side of Sin City just yet. The Zack Snyder film follows a group of mercenaries as they head to Vegas after a zombie outbreak to pull off the heist of a lifetime. If you're wondering why they need money, in this world the zombie outbreak has been contained to Vegas by the government. And yes, Area 51 is where the outbreak originated.
Starring Dave Bautista, Ella Purnell, Ana de la Reguera, Matthias Schweighöfer, Nora Arnezeder, Hiroyuki Sanada, Raúl Castillo, Michael Cassidy, and Garret Dillahunt, you can expect the characters to be just as outrageous as the plot. "It is a full-blown, balls-to-the-wall zombie heist movie, so it's genre-on-genre in a great way," director Zack Snyder previously told Entertainment Weekly. "So you expect pure zombie mayhem, and you get that, 100 percent. But also you get these really amazing characters on a fantastic journey. It's going to surprise people that there's a lot of warmth and real emotion with these great characters." We can't wait to go all in on the film when it premieres on Netflix on May 21.
