Chloe x Halle Accept Their Billboard Rising Star Award From Mentor Beyoncé: "We Love You!"

Chloe x Halle were honored as this year's rising stars at Thursday's virtual Billboard Women in Music event, and Queen Bey even made a surprise appearance to present the award. "Ladies, I am so, so proud of you!" Beyoncé said as she introduced the two. "You've done this with authenticity, with grace, with raw talent, and you manage to shine in every room you enter, and I'll always love you." The singer discovered Chloe x Halle and went on to sign the duo to her label, Parkwood Entertainment, in 2015.

In their heartwarming acceptance speech, the sisters said they were "filled with nothing but extreme gratitude" for Beyoncé. "She saw something in us both, two young Black girls with short little locks, passionately singing their hearts out at home for the world to see," Halle said. "So we just want to say thank you, Beyoncé, for being you, and for believing in the power of lifting up the young. We love you!"

Chloe x Halle also gave a shoutout to the women in music who came before them for reminding them that "the capacity to do more is inexhaustible." "We follow their footsteps and will continue to work hard to blaze a trail for the women who will come behind us, all while holding a hand out to help pull our sisters forward too," Halle said.
