The satirical comedy follows First Lady Trinitie Childs (Regina Hall) and her husband, Pastor Lee-Curtis Childs (Sterling K. Brown), as the leaders of a Southern Baptist megachurch that once served tens of thousands in their congregation. However, when a scandal hits the church and forces it to temporarily close, the couple decide to film "the biggest comeback that commodified religion has ever seen" to revive their reputation and reopen their doors.
