Watch the Trailer For HBO Max's Kimi

A Blue-Haired Zoë Kravitz Is Ready to Solve a Murder Mystery in Kimi

Kimi, call for backup — we're going to need help solving this mystery. On Jan. 11, Warner Bros. Pictures released the trailer for the Steven Soderbergh-directed tech thriller Kimi, which stars Zoë Kravitz as a voice-stream interpreter determined to solve an audio-recorded crime.

Kravitz's blue-haired character, Angela Childs, is an introvert homebody who heavily relies on her digital voice assistant, Kimi — which closely resembles Amazon's Alexa — to basically do everything for her, including tell time, make calls, and more. But things get tricky when Angela stumbles across an audio clip from Kimi that sounds like the recording of a murder. "We're dealing with what sounds like a premeditated murder," Angela says in the suspenseful clip. She pleads for help from the authorities, but her story isn't convincing enough for people to believe her. So instead, Angela and Kimi set out on a dark, cyber quest to get to the bottom of the murder.

In addition to Kravitz, Kimi also stars Byron Bowers, Rita Wilson, Robin Givens, Jaime Camil, Erika Christensen, Derek DelGaudio, Charles Halford, Devin Ratray, and Jacob Vargas. The film will be available to stream exclusively on HBO Max on Feb. 10. Watch the trailer above.
