Yes! Another Mindy Kaling Essay Collection Is Coming, So Mark Your Calendar

Mindy Kaling fans, it's time to get excited, because the writer/actress/[insert a bunch of other titles because what doesn't she do?] has yet another essay collection coming soon. Amazon Original Stories, an imprint of Amazon Publishing, announced on Tuesday that Mindy Kaling's new essay collection will arrive in Summer 2020. Even better? The essays will be free — repeat: free! — for Amazon Prime and Kindle Unlimited customers, and readers will be able to download the collection as a Kindle eBook or as an Audible audiobook narrated by Kaling.

The upcoming collection will feature more of Kaling's signature humor as she touches on the events of her life over the past few years, including everything from motherhood to being BFFs with Reese Witherspoon and Oprah Winfrey. "It's so exciting for me to share the secrets of how I balance being a professional writer, actor, and single mom in a new collection of essays," Kaling said, according to the press release. "I mean, it would be so exciting to share those secrets. I don't have them. Like, not even close. This morning I bribed my baby with a remote control to get my car keys back. But I do have funny stories about my life and I can't wait for you to read them."

As a diehard Mindy Kaling fan, I'm already counting down the days until the collection's release, but for the time being, we can all get our fix by rereading her two bestselling memoirs, Why Not Me? and Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?. Oh, and by heading to the movie theater to check out her new film, Late Night.

Mindy Kaling's first book, Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns) ($10), came out in 2012, and it's every bit as funny and thoughtful as fans of The Office had hoped.
