Lennon & Maisy may already be known for their roles as Maddie and Daphne Conrad on the hit ABC show Nashville, but when the video for their cover of Charli XCX's hit "Boom Clap" went viral last week, they garnered a whole slew of new fans and followers. The singing sensations (who are sisters both on and off screen) hit it big with their ethereal rendition of the song, and we thought we'd shed some light on these insanely talented siblings for those of you out there who are dying to know more about them. The girls were born in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada, to parents Brad and Marylynne Stella. In 2009, after moving the family to Nashville, Brad and Marylynne — who perform as The Stellas — finished in fourth place on the CMT series Can You Duet. They released a self-titled debut album two years later.

They've never had singing lessons.

Despite the fact that they are both insanely talented singers, neither of the girls has ever received professional vocal classes or instrument training. Their two-part harmonies were honed by performing at various shows and festivals alongside their parents, who also taught them how to play the guitar, the piano, and the ukulele.

Nashville producer R.J. Cutler told The Hollywood Reporter that the parts of Rayna (Connie Britton) and Teddy's (Eric Close) daughters were originally written for 6- and 8-year-old girls. After Maisy auditioned, she mentioned that she had an older sister that she often sang with, and after meeting Lennon, Cutler said, "We decided on the spot to change the roles to fit Maisy and Lennon's ages. Listening to them sing literally brought tears to our eyes."

Lennon and Maisy's picture book, In the Waves, is a story told along to the girls' original song. It will be released in April 2015 from HarperCollins.

When asked about their close relationship in a 2012 interview, Lennon said, "We never actually fight. We get in arguments over silly things, but we get along for the most part." Maisy added, "Everyone's like, 'Do you like your big sister?' I'm like, 'Yes. Don't you guys?' Lennon is such a great big sister. She's so supportive and she's really great."

Before she received the Pinnacle Award at the 2013 CMAs, Taylor got a special serenade from Lennon and Maisy — the pair performed Taylor's hit "You Belong With Me," and the singer couldn't contain her excitement, mouthing the words along with them and giving little Maisy a huge hug when she finished. Maisy recounted the moment in a Glamour interview, saying, "Taylor kissed me all over my face and I had lipstick marks! I'm like, 'I'm never showering again, I'm never showing again!' But my mom said, 'No, you have to take a shower this morning!' I said, 'Dangit! That didn't last for long!'"

They love Harry Styles — and he loves them back.

The girls recorded a video for Harry to wish him a happy birthday in January 2013. Shortly after, Lennon and Maisy got a call from the One Direction singer. Maisy said in an interview, "I answered the phone and he was like, 'Hello, it's Harry!' And I was like 'Oh my gosh, oh my gosh.'" Lennon added, "He's called us and said that he loves our videos and that he's coming to town soon and that hopefully we'll be able to meet each other!"

Harry kept his promise; just a few months later he met up with the girls, who shared this adorable photo via Instagram, saying, "What a great way to spend a summer night. Hanging on a porch with @harrystyles #loveUloads."

Lennon told OK! Magazine, "We have maybe one or two songs that we're thinking about not so much as YouTube videos, but more posting them on iTunes. We'll definitely do a single, but maybe not an album yet."
