The protagonist can’t stop the twister, the storm, the tsunami, the ocean, or any of the elements. Sure, they can stop the virus, but a majority of the time the virus prevails, either killing most of the population or making zombies out of all of them. But the elements are impossible to stop. Protagonists can only survive until Mother Nature decides to move past them. This villain type can be found in dramas like The Impossible, but most often are showcased in their own sub-genre, the Disaster Flick.
