It was fated that Amy Schumer's first big movie would be a gut-busting, memorable comedy, but I don't think anyone expected there to be such a satsifying love story at the center of it. Maybe it's so good because it's not a Hollywood romance — it's messy, imperfect, and there are challenges you never see in a big mainstream romantic comedy (non-devastating casual sex, a parent's death, actual relationship talks). It's real. And that's why it's so good.
