4 Shows the Golden Globes Made You Want to Watch

If you watched the Golden Globe Awards this year and thought to yourself, "I haven't even heard of that TV show," you're not alone. A handful of shows have been scoring critical support but have managed to stay under the radar — until now. Here are four shows that went home with Globes on Sunday that you really need to start watching. You won't regret it!

01
Mr. Robot
USA Network

Mr. Robot

OK, this is a show I know your friends have told you to watch. It won big at the Golden Globes, taking home best drama series and best supporting actor for Christian Slater. I can't rave enough; this show is like nothing you've ever seen before. Take Fight Club and put it in a blender with American Psycho and you have this bizarre masterpiece. I don't want to give away too much about the plot, just dive in and be prepared to obsess over lead Rami Malek.

Mozart in the Jungle

This Amazon original series won best musical or comedy and Gael García Bernal won best actor in a musical or comedy for his role, and you still have no idea what it's about, do you? Bernal plays Rodrigo, a tour de force of a conductor who comes to the New York Symphony, crossing paths with a young musician (Lola Kirke). You don't have to be a classical music aficionado to appreciate the originality of this series. The second season dropped on Amazon in December, so you have plenty to catch up on!

Wolf Hall
PBS

Wolf Hall

Wolf Hall beat out American Horror Story: Hotel and Fargo for best limited series or motion picture made for television, so it must be good, right? Right! Damian Lewis (Homeland), Claire Foy, Mark Rylance, and Thomas Brodie-Sangster star in the historical drama based on the 2009 novel by Hilary Mantel. Produced by BBC Two, it showed in the US on PBS in April. In addition to those Golden Globes, it was nominated for nine Emmys last year! If you're looking for something to quench your thirst for period drama, you might want to look this up after Downton Abbey ends.

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend
The CW

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend

Look, a musical comedy on The CW might not sound up your alley, especially when the title is Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, but this show is straight-up hilarious. Star Rachel Bloom freaked out accepting her Globe for best actress in a TV musical or comedy, but she earned every bit of that golden statuette. She's featured on the series as a woman who upends her whole life to follow a Summer camp crush back to his hometown. It sounds nutso, but it's a sharply written, self-aware series, and the cast is magical together.
