Before They Were on The Walking Dead, Here's What Your Favorite Zombie Slayers Starred In

Even The Walking Dead-obsessed might be surprised by where their favorite stars got their starts. Someone smooched James Van Der Beek on Dawson's Creek, another appeared in Van Wilder 2: The Rise of Taj, and yet another was a regular on One Tree Hill. Before you watch the next episode (or the sure-to-be-devastating finale!), take a look at their past movies and TV shows. And in case you haven't already, you need to see what the cast looks like when they're not covered in grime.

Andrew Lincoln

Before Lincoln scored his lead role on The Walking Dead, he was known as the guy with the sweet/creepy signs from 2003's Love Actually. The UK-born actor also starred on several British series: This Life, Teachers, and Afterlife.

Norman Reedus

Reedus has been starring on the big and small screens since 1997. His biggest non-Walking Dead role has to be playing Murphy MacManus in 1999's The Boondock Saints and its sequel. You can also catch him in Blade II (2002), American Gangster (2007), and a couple episodes of Charmed.

Your eyes aren't deceiving you; Carol kissed Dawson! McBride appeared as Melanie on a 2003 episode of Dawson's Creek. Fun fact: she also made a brief cameo in The Mist, a movie that her former costar Laurie Holden (aka Andrea) starred in.

Steven Yeun

Prior to his Glenn days, Yeun had a bit part on The Big Bang Theory as Sheldon's old roommate. The Walking Dead was his big break, and the role that meant he wouldn't have to play "Asian Guy" or voice a "Korean Soldier" anymore. (Yes, those are two of his credits.)

Lauren Cohan

Lauren Cohan

Back in 2005, Cohan scored her first onscreen role in Casanova, starring Heath Ledger. One year later, she played the love interest in Van Wilder 2: The Rise of Taj. Of course, avid Supernatural viewers know her as Bela Talbot.

Danai Gurira

Danai Gurira

Gurira seems like she was born to hack up zombies (in a good way), but she hasn't always played such badass characters. In 2007, she starred as a jewelry designer in The Visitor. Fast-forward through stints on Law & Order and Lie to Me, and she had an arc on Treme before The Walking Dead.

Michael Cudlitz

You've probably seen a lot more of Michael Cudlitz than you realize. His first-ever TV role was in 21 Jump Street, and he appeared on practically every popular show from the early '90s: L.A. Law, Step by Step, Growing Pains, and, of course, Beverly Hills, 90210. Right before he landed on The Walking Dead, he was starring on the cop drama Southland.

Serratos, aka Rosita, has been all over the map. She played Angela in the Twilight movies, and The Secret Life of the American Teenager fans might remember her as Raven.

Seth Gilliam

Gilliam got his start in the early '90s on The Cosby Show before appearing in movies like Courage Under Fire and Starship Troopers. He memorably played Clayton Hughes on Oz, Sgt. Ellis Carver on The Wire, and he's been playing Dr. Alan Deaton on Teen Wolf since 2011.

Now known to TWD viewers as Spencer Monroe, Nichols had bit parts on TV shows before starring with Jake Gyllenhaal in 2004's The Day After Tomorrow. If you watched One Tree Hill, however, he'll forever be Julian Baker.
