6 Reasons You Should Definitely Be Listening to Anna Faris's Podcast

Honestly, you don't even need to be a podcast person to love Anna Faris's awesome podcast, Anna Faris Is Unqualified. First launched back in November, the podcast features a range of big-name stars who chat with Anna and offer their advice to callers. Anna hosts the show along with one of her best friends, Sim Sarna, and thanks to the casual, intimate atmosphere, the conversations are unlike any other you might find in a celebrity interview. Keep reading for a look at why you should definitely be listening to Unqualified, then check out some of Anna Faris's sweetest family photos.

The format offers a little bit of everything.

Even if you have a short attention span, you definitely won't be bored by Anna's podcast. In any given episode, you'll get a short interview with the celebrity guest, a hilarious round of rapid-fire questions that only Anna could ask, plus a few call-in questions from listeners who get advice from Anna, Sim, and the guests.

The podcast feels really intimate.

When you're listening to Anna's podcast, you may as well be curled up on the couch for a late-night chat in her living room. For one thing, she's quite literally talking to her best friend, Sim, and for another, she's just refreshingly candid and chill, which leaves her guests comfortable enough to be the same way. That brings me to my next point . . .

03
She gets people to say things they'd probably never say in another interview.

Between Anna's open, judgment-free attitude and the personal relationships she has with the celebrity guests, it's the ideal environment for stars to be incredibly honest — and personal. Olivia Munn got real about what it was like to date a professional athlete (boyfriend Aaron Rodgers), and while sharing advice with a gay caller, Lance Bass talked about the challenge of coming out to his *NSYNC bandmates. Anna, too, isn't afraid to go there, regularly opening up about everything from her marriage to "mommy guilt." In other words, these definitely aren't the careful conversations celebrities typically have with interviewers, and you get to see a side of stars that's rarely in the spotlight.

04

It's equal parts humor and depth.

You're listening to Anna Faris, so of course the podcast is funny. The hilarious actress brings her unguarded, easygoing sense of humor to the mix at every turn, cracking jokes as she interviews guests and dropping sarcastic one-liners while they're sharing advice with callers. What's really incredible, though, is that you may be laughing one minute and getting emotional the next, because in between quips about bikini waxes and questions about which murder weapon a celebrity might choose, Anna leads compelling conversations that explore thoughtful themes like self-esteem and sexuality.

05
The advice is worth taking to heart.

The advice is worth taking to heart.

Sure, the name of the podcast might be Anna Faris Is Unqualified, but even if she's not, you know, a certified therapist, she's basically the best friend you'd want to call if you were looking for a considerate, sincere, from-the-heart opinion. She's fair and empathetic when she and the celebrity guests share their two cents, and you can tell that she genuinely wants to help people. (Both Anna and Sim regularly ask that callers follow up later, and they'll sometimes offer updates on past episodes.) In one moment I particularly loved, Anna very simply and genuinely encouraged a caller to "protect her heart," and it was clear that her words were exactly what the caller needed to hear.

If, like us, you also adore Chris Pratt or you're obsessed with Anna and Chris's sweet relationship, you'll be thrilled to hear that he sometimes chimes in during different episodes. Like Anna, he's hilarious (of course), but he also takes it seriously and offers smart, heartfelt advice. (It's particularly cute to hear Anna call him her "sweet husband" — and so, so funny when she casually talks about his balls.)
